Hawaii Partnership to Prevent Underage Drinking (HPPUD)

The Hawaii Partnership to Prevent Underage Drinking (HPPUD) was created in December 2002 to address the problem of underage drinking in the state of Hawaii. The members of the partnership represent county, state and federal agencies, non-profit organizations, private businesses and community residents concerned with the health of Hawaii's youth.
The structure of HPPUD consists of (1) four county coalitions to address the unique needs of each county, and (2) a statewide advisory counsil consisting of representatives from each county coalition.
THIS EVENT WILL PROVIDE EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR EMPLOYEES OR STUDENTS
The workshop will be held as a panel discussion, lead by Gary Shimabukuro who will be addressing drug use as a state-wide problem. Members of the Kauai Police Department will also be in attendance to provide information about how drug use and abuse directly effect our communities. Keith Kamita from State Narcotics will provide a display of drugs, illegal and prescribed, for the audience to view.
