Enforcement
Agencies that we support:
The Operations Section can provide support in the following ways:
Technical Support
- Linguist Support (Translator Support). Provide transcription/translation
of audio/video tapes, seized documents, and other information media.
- Investigative Case and Analyst Support. Assist law enforcement agencies in
the establishment of counterdrug intelligence systems/databases and provide
intelligence analysis support. Provide assistance in developing investigations and
cases for prosecution. Activities include, but are not limited to, inputting,
reviewing, and analyzing collected information, and are designed to enhance the
effectiveness of the supported agency and release law enforcement officers for drug
enforcement duties.
- Communications Support. Provide personnel to establish, operate,
and maintain communications stations, bases, and equipment in support of counterdrug
operations and assist with Community-based Organizations communications/technical issues.
General Support
- Domestic Cannabis Suppression/ Eradication Operations Support.
Support law enforcement agencies in domestic cannabis suppression and eradication
operations. This includes, but is not limited to, aerial support, logistic support,
communications support, intelligence, planning support, operational staff coordination,
medical support, physical security, ground transportation, eradication and destruction
of contraband, and spraying of herbicides, in accordance with Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) regulations and state laws.
- Transportation Support. Provide transportation (aerial, ground, or
maritime) of law enforcement personnel/equipment, persons in law enforcement custody,
seized property or contraband as part of ongoing time-sensitive counterdrug operations,
when security or other special circumstances reasonably necessitate National Guard
support and there is a counterdrug nexus.
- Cargo/Mail Inspection. Assist law enforcement agencies by inspecting
cargo and mail. Primary emphasis will be placed on Ports of Entry and functional
equivalents. Cargo/Mail includes, but is not limited, to vehicles, containers, commercial
cargo, aircraft, watercraft, baggage, and mail.
Counterdrug-related Training Support
Training LEA/Military Personnel. Train law enforcement/military personnel
in military subjects and skills useful in the conduct of counterdrug operations or in the
operation of military equipment used during counterdrug operations.
Reconnaissance/Observation Support
Surface/Aerial Reconnaissance. Conduct reconnaissance or perform area
observation of airspace, maritime or surface areas for illegal drug activities that include,
but are not limited to, cultivation of marijuana, suspected isolated drug trafficking airstrips,
drug drop zones, drug trafficking corridors, illegal drug laboratories, suspicious aircraft,
watercraft, or motor vehicles.
