Kokua Ohana Aloha (KOA) Program

The Hawaii National Guard Counterdrug Program is the host of the KOA program. The KOA program, formerly known as the Akamai program, is coordinated by the State of Hawaii Family Court 1st Circuit.

The KOA program consists of two evening sessions from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. (KOA Agenda - PDF) Families will receive a letter from the Family Court, which will provide session dates and a map . The sessions are for two evenings only (Tuesdays or Thursdays - KOA Schedule ). It is very important that families attend, those who do not will be referred to Family Court.

The goals of the two sessions are to:
  1. Teach different ways of handling and preventing family conflict.
  2. Teach practices to help strengthen family relationships and communication.
  3. Help families to address their own family disagreements in a way that does not require police or court intervention.
If you have questions regarding the rescheduling of your sessions, you may call Lieutenant Colonel Tamah-lani Noh at 672-1520.
